Membership classes

MEMBERSHIP CLASSES

Membership of CropLife is available in the following classes:

CROP PROTECTION SECTOR

CROP PROTECTION MEMBER – CLASS A (FULL VOTING RIGHTS)
Any corporate person involved in the basic manufacture of, the formulation of or the supply of Industry Products specifically relating to crop protection, and with sales greater than $27,983,629 or less than or equal to $27,983,629.

CROP PROTECTION MEMBER – CLASS B (NON-VOTING RIGHTS)

Any corporate person involved in the basic manufacture of, the formulation of or the supply of Industry Products1 specifically relating to crop protection and with sales of less than or equal to $27,983,629.

CROP PROTECTION ASSOCIATE MEMBER

Any incorporated entity or person that is involved in the provision of consultancy services to, or has an interest in, the crop protection aspect of the industry.

 

CROP BIOTECHNOLOGY SECTOR

CATEGORY ONE – CROP BIOTECHNOLOGY MEMBER (FULL VOTING RIGHTS)
Members in this category hold a licence for the commercial release of a GM event(s) from the OGTR, plus have reached a minimum level of sales of the licensed GM event.

CATEGORY TWO – CROP BIOTECHNOLOGY MEMBER (FULL VOTING RIGHTS)

Members in this category hold a licence for the commercial release of a GM event(s) from the OGTR but have not reached the minimum level of sales of the licensed event as determined to be a Category One member.  

OR

Members in this category have an active ingredient registered with the APVMA for use in GM crops.

CATEGORY THREE – CROP BIOTECHNOLOGY MEMBER (NON-VOTING RIGHTS)

Members in this category hold a licence for the field trial of a GM event(s) from the OGTR.

OR

Members in this category have received approval from FSANZ for a GM food or food ingredient to be listed in Standard 1.5.2 of the Food Standards Code.

OR

Members in this category are a seed company who commercially market GM seed but are not themselves holders of the OGTR commercial licence.

CROP BIOTECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE  MEMBER

Any incorporated entity or person that is involved in the provision of consultancy services to, or has an interest in, the crop biotechnology aspect of the industry

[1] Crop Protection companies with sales greater than $27,983,629 million may only apply for membership in Class A.  Crop Protection companies with sales less than/equal to $27,983,629 million may apply for membership in either Class A or Class B.

[2] Calculated on sales of industry products in the previous financial year.

Industry Product means an agricultural and industrial chemical (either technical or formulated) or biological product intended for use for agricultural, pastoral, horticultural, domestic or industrial purposes for the control of pests or the improvement of production of plants including a product for the diagnosing, curing, alleviating or preventing any disease or injury of plants, but excluding fertilisers.

[3] An incorporated entity providing consultancy services to, or having an interest in the crop protection aspect of the industry.  This class is not available to incorporated entities that have registrations with the APVMA.

[4] An incorporated entity providing consultancy services to, or having an interest in the crop biotechnology aspect of the industry.   This category is not available to an incorporated entity that falls within any other CropLife Crop Biotechnology category.

[5] Persons are ineligible for membership of the Associate Individual Class if employed by a company which is eligible for membership under Crop Protection Class A or Class B or the Associate Corporate Class, but is not a current CropLife member.  Owners, directors, or employees of companies that provide commercial, regulatory and/or technical services to companies are also ineligible for membership of this Class of Associate membership unless the company of which they are an owner, director or employee has a current and on-going direct commercial relationship with a current CropLife Australia member company.
