Unnecessary, costly hurdles threaten crop innovation

    A inquiry into agricultural innovation has been told new Genetically Modified crop varieties are in the development pipeline to boost the viability of Australian farmers – but government must avoid putting unnecessary and costly hurdles in the way. CropLife Australia CEO Matthew Cossey said the importance of innovation on the biotechnology side of his industry was “extraordinary”.
