The national peak industry organisation for the plant science sector welcomes the swearing in of the new ministry for the Albanese Government’s second term today. This includes the reappointment of the Hon Julie Collins to Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry portfolio and Senator the Hon Anthony Chisholm as Assistant Minister.
CropLife Australia’s Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Cossey said, “CropLife Australia and our member companies congratulate Minister Collins and Assistant Minister Chisholm on their reappointment to continue to ensure that Australia’s agricultural policies support innovation, sustainability, and productivity.”
“The future of Australian agriculture is critical to driving the Government’s productivity agenda and to maintaining the food security necessary to continue to curb cost of living pressures.
“We look forward to working with Minister Collins as the Government advances its Feeding Australia strategy. Ensuring Australian farmers have access to the technologies that drive food production and adapt to climate change is vital to maintaining the nation’s food security resilience,” said Mr Cossey.

Additionally, CropLife congratulates the Hon Sussan Ley MP on her election as Leader of the Liberal Party, and the Hon Ted O’Brien MP as the Deputy Leader, and the re-election of the Hon David Littleproud MP as the Leader of the Nationals, alongside the Hon Kevin Hogan MP as Deputy Leader and Senator the Hon Bridget McKenzie as their leader in the Senate.
