29 June 2017 (Canberra) – CropLife Australia’s new and updated Resistance Management Strategies for fungicides, herbicides and insecticides are now available online. These Strategies help all crop protection product users sustainably control the pests, weeds and diseases that are a constant threat to Australia’s natural environment and our nation’s food, feed and fibre production.

CropLife Australia’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Matthew Cossey, said “It is vital that farmers, environmental land managers and other agricultural chemical users adopt up-to-date best-practice advice on managing crop protection product resistance. It is also essential that those who sell these products and agronomists who advise on their use, provide specific, relevant and important resistance management information to farmers and spray contractors.”

“Understanding the impact of resistance, adhering to integrated pest management strategies and carefully using crop protection products in strict accordance with registered and approved label instructions will help farmers delay, and sometimes prevent, development of resistant pests, weeds and diseases that harm farming systems and natural habitats.”

“Each year CropLife updates and makes available Resistance Management Strategies developed by our scientific technical review committees in consultation with relevant national and international experts.”
