Plant Science Industry Welcomes New Minister for Agriculture

    The national peak industry organisation for the plant science sector welcomes today’s appointment of David Littleproud MP as Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources

    David Littleproud’s appointment as Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources has today been welcomed by CropLife Australia, as the national peak industry body for the plant science sector.

    “The plant science industry is looking forward to working with Minister Littleproud in continuing to advance Australian agriculture and the crucial supporting agribusinesses that deliver innovation to Australian farming,” CropLife Australia CEO, Matthew Cossey said today.

    “The plant science industry is also pleased that Senator the Hon. Anne Ruston has been retained as Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources. It is very positive news that Senator Ruston’s proven record of commitment to the agricultural portfolio will be continued in the new Ministry.”

    “CropLife is looking forward to assisting and working with Minister Littleproud and Senator Ruston to ensure a strong, productive future for Australian agriculture.  There is still a lot of work to be done to ensure that Australia’s farming sector reaches its full potential over the coming decades,” concluded Mr Cossey.
