Resistance management strategy for:ย

Group 2ย  Dicarboximides;ย
Groupย 3ย  Demethylation inhibitors (DMI);ย
Groupย 7ย  Succinate dehydrogenase inhibitorsย (SDHI);ย
Groupย 7 + 11ย  SDHI + Quinone outside inhibitors (QoI);ย
Groupย 9ย  Anilinopyrimidines (AP); andย
Groupย 11ย  Quinone outside inhibitors (QoI).ย

ย

Guidelinesย

  1. If applyingย Group 2,ย 3,ย 7,ย 11ย orย 7+11ย fungicides,ย doย notย apply more than two consecutive sprays of fungicides from the same group before changing to another group, this includes the last application made in-field from one season to the next.ย
  2. Doย notย apply more than three sprays of aย Group 7,ย 9,ย 11ย orย 7+11ย fungicideย per season.ย Alone, tank mixed or co-formulated all count to total. If group 7 applied alone, applyย Group 7ย in strict alternation with fungicides from a different cross-resistance group.ย
  3. When mixtures are used forย Group 7ย resistance management, applied as tank mix or as a co-formulated mixture, the mixture partner should provide effective disease control when used alone on the target disease and must have a different mode of action.ย
  4. Always applyย Group 7ย fungicides as per label instructions and use preventatively.ย
  5. If consecutive sprays of fungicides from the same chemical group are applied, they must be followed by at least the same number of sprays from an alternative chemical group, before returning to the original group.ย

ย  Groupย
ย  2ย  3ย  7ย  9ย  11ย  7 + 11ย
Maximum number of consecutive applicationsย  2ย  2ย  2ย  2ย  2ย  2ย
Maximum number of solo spraysย  2ย  2ย  2ย  2ย  2ย  2ย
Maximum number of sprays per seasonย  2ย  3ย  3ย  3ย  3ย  3ย
  • A post-harvestย foliarย treatment should also be counted as an application.ย
  • The last blossom blight spray and the first pre-harvest brown rot spray should be regarded as consecutive applications.ย
  • The spray program should be considered and theย resistance managementย strategy applied on a whole-orchard basis.ย

CropLife Australiaโ€™s Resistance Management Strategies provide a guide for crop protection product rotation through product groups. The strategies are a useful tool that supports farmersโ€™ adoption of resistance management. All crop protection products must be handled and applied strictly as specified on the product label or APVMA permits.

These Resistance Management Strategies do not replace product labels. They are a guide only and do not endorse particular products, groups of products or cultural methods in terms of their performance. It is important to check with the Australian regulatorโ€™s (APVMA) product database for contemporary information on products and active constituents. The database can be sourced through www.apvma.gov.au

The information given in this strategy is provided in good faith and without any liability for loss or damage suffered as a result of its application and use. Advice given in this strategy is valid as at 22 July 2026. All previous versions of this strategy are now invalid.
